The live map

Your area, as it is right now

Open Redice and see recent reports around you on a street-level map. Nearby reports group together when you zoom out and separate when you zoom in, so the map stays readable.

  • Recent, not historical

Only the last 24 hours are on the map. Old news never crowds out what matters now.

  • At street level

Every report is pinned where it happens, not to a neighbourhood or a postcode.

  • Checked by the community

Each report shows how fresh it is and how many people nearby have confirmed it.

How it works

See it. Report it. Confirm it.

  1. See

Open the map to see what people around you have reported in the last 24 hours.

  2. Report

Noticed something? Add it in a few taps. You can only report within 500 metres of where you are, so reports come from people who are actually there.

  3. Confirm

Passing an existing report? Tell others whether it’s still there or gone. Confirmations keep the map honest and current.

Fresh, not permanent

Reports cool down. That’s the point.

Redice reflects what is happening now — not a permanent record of your neighbourhood. Every report ages, a new confirmation makes it fresh again, and after 24 hours without one it leaves the map.

  1. Hot

    0–1 hour

    Just reported or just confirmed.

  2. Warm

    1–3 hours

Still recent. Worth a look, and a confirmation.

  3. Cold

    3–24 hours

    Ageing, shown with lower confidence.

  4. Expired

    After 24 hours

    Gone from the public map.

Alerts

Hear about the places that matter

Get notified about new reports near you, or near places you save — like home, work or school. You choose how far out, and how often.

  • Around you

Alerts for new reports within the radius you choose.

  • Saved places

Add home, work or school and get alerts near them, even when you’re somewhere else. Saved places stay private.

  • At your pace

Get urgent reports right away and batch the rest, or set your own rhythm. Alerts are always optional.

Background location is optional and explained before you turn it on. You can switch it off at any time.

Privacy and trust

Built to share what’s happening — not who you are

Reports are public. The people behind them are not.

  • Anonymous reports

Reports and confirmations never show your name, email or phone number — only an anonymous trust level.

  • Proximity, checked on our servers

You can only report within 500 metres of a location. We verify that on our servers, not just in the app, and your device position is never shown.

  • Clean media

Photos and videos have their EXIF and GPS metadata removed on our servers before anything is published.

  • Private saved places

Home, work and any other places you save are never shown publicly.

  • Background location is your call

Optional, explained separately, and off whenever you want.

  • No personal data in analytics

We don’t send your precise location, email or phone number to analytics.

FAQ

Questions, answered

What is Redice?

Redice is a community reporting app for iOS and Android. It shows recent reports from people near you on a live map — things like road hazards, closures and gatherings — and lets you add your own and confirm others.

Is Redice available yet?

Not yet. Redice is launching gradually, starting with community pilots. Join the waitlist and we’ll email you when it’s available near you.

How much does it cost?

Redice is free to use, with no subscription. It’s supported by optional one-time contributions and limited ads that are kept away from the map and reporting controls.

Will people know it was me?

No. Reports and confirmations are public but anonymous. They never show your name, email or phone number. Your account is verified behind the scenes to prevent abuse.

How long do reports stay up?

Up to 24 hours from the last confirmation. Reports cool from Hot to Warm to Cold as they age, then leave the public map.

Why do I have to be nearby to report?

So reports come from people who can actually see what they describe. You can report within 500 metres of a location, and we check that on our servers.

How do alerts work?

Turn on alerts for new reports around you, or around saved places like home or work, and choose the radius and how often you hear from us. Alerts and background location are optional.

When can I download it?

Redice will be on the App Store and Google Play. The store links will appear on this page as soon as each listing is live.

Which languages does the app support?

The app is available in English and Spanish.

Is Redice for emergencies?

No. Reports come from the public and are not official information. In an emergency, contact your local emergency services.
